Summer knitting

Summer knitting

It’s warm and sunny, the days are long and the nights too sort to get some decent sleep, so why bother? Let’s knit!

I’m still trying to recover mentally from the bags of yarn I bought in the yarn factory (more like, trying to find projects and TIME for turning them into something lovable), but oh, wait! I found something even better in my mailbox! These yummy wonderful, squishalicous box of yarns from Hearthsidefibers. I have been waiting impatiently for its arrival to knit up a new shawl pattern! It’s rather hard to decide which of these is going to be the first one on my needles. These hand dyed beauties already feel amazing! I’ve got super soft DK ‘Extravagance’ (85% Polwarth, 15% silk blend) in three lovely colourways (Spice -left, Anishinaabe and Delphinum – the two blues on the right), and yummy ‘BaaBoo” (60% Merino,  30% Bamboo, 10% Nylon) in Poinsetta (middle) and ‘Crystal’ (50% SW Merino, 50% Tencel) in Salsa.

Would you be able to decide right away?? No, I didn’t think so. We’ll see what my needles picked in the morning 🙂

This weekend has been crazy busy and now the week is half gone already! Well. At least I can show you one pair of mittens that I finished this week for my Etsy store (hooray for commuting time on the train). This is one of my first and also one of my favorite patterns. Coziness fingerless mitts. I have made tons of mittens from it already and never get tired of it. It’s the perfect commuting project. And quickly finished, which makes me even happier. This way  can try out more yarns in less time 🙂

Also I can promise you a new toy pattern to be published soon, for those of you who need even more cuteness in their lives. It will be going into testing soon! (Am I designing too much? Please tell me it’s alright!!) Watch this space and keep on knitting!
