De-stash mode on!
Can I show you something? Promise you won’t judge me? I mean, you all know how it is, right? This stash that just keeps on piling up? You don’t really (I mean, not REALLY, right?) buy any new yarns and for some weird inexplicable reason it just keeps growing? I am wondering whether it’s due to the fact that I keep my yarns in drawers and closely squeezed together (I know, it’s not very yarn friendly, the poor things hardly have space to move around and do their thing, but I can’t get another wardrobe for them just yet – my husband might become suspicious!).
Maybe they multiply in the darkness? In any case I will try to improve their situation a bit this year and promised myself to only knit from stash. With most of my solid leftovers gone for now I’m latching onto my Sockables now. And since I really don’t feel like socking it all the time (it’s so boring if you always have to make two of a kind…) I’m stuffing some of these into hats and sweaters and we’ll see what else 🙂 Here’s a glimpse into my Sockables-drawer. (it’s mostly still complete 100g skeins and will most likely take years to empty, if that’s ever going to happen). What would YOU do with all of these?

Next to this drawer there are six more this size with various yarn weights, DK, bulky, non-Sockables fingerings like these

Schoppelwolle Zauberball has their own drawer and the real beauties live in the living room on a shelf of their own. So I really need to make their life a little easier and knit non-stop. They deserve much better than living in the dark, don’t you think? So I’ll be knitting with my Sockables for a while now and try to reduce at least some of them to neat little leftover balls that can then go to the leftover-bowl to be turned into something colourful.

These are now slowly turning into another Dragon hat, but one for toddlers. I made a few of these lately and am really in love with them. Since they never stay with me for long (As soon as they are listed on Etsy, they seem to be moving out) I thought I’d stock up on a few of them. They are a lot of fun to knit. (and to wear :))

I better hurry, they are all yelling Pick meeeeeeeeeeeeeee! as soon as I open the drawer… Please tell me your stash is as misbehaving as mine!
I’ll better get to it now.
Don’t forget, my new KAL is starting this Wednesday!
