Let there be dragons!
Still in a de-stashing mood, still not visibly getting any closer to emptying the Sockables drawer…How is this possible, there must be SOME more space in there somewhere??
As I’m working on new designs knitting these Dragon hats from random bits and pieces at least helps a bit to get some air into my Sockables. For some reason this pattern really got to me. Maybe its related to the fact that all my dragons seem to primarily feed on leftovers and colurful yarns? Or that they are really easy to knit and make a great train-project. Anyway, if I’m not knitting socks these dragons appear to be my current addiction. Unfortunately they don’t seem fierce or dangerous enough to secure me a seat on every train, but I guess you can’t have everything…
This one is the latest: adult-size, freshly hatched and hungry. It devoured 120g of sock yarn and it’s already on its way to Arizona, US. Fingers crossed that it won’t eat the mailman… The poor guy probably has enough trouble with dogs already as it is.

This bunch of leftovers turned into another dragon hat for smaller kids some weeks ago. There’s still a lot of yarn left of these… But at least I could move the smallest leftover into my bowl of tiny-leftover-balls that will hopefully turn into scrappy socks at some point (I could die for those!!)

Another one for kids that went into my Etsy store, this one was feeding on two strands of 4ply sock yarns. I really like the way the speckles worked together! First I thought it would be too boring with only two strands of the same colourway, but I must say I quite like it! It’s a golden dragon for toddlers and older children π

And this one used up 90g of 6ply sock yarns, too, which on their own looked rather dull. So I was really happy with how these stripes turned out π Don’t you lve yarn surprises, too? I think so far this is my favourite.
Doesn’t it look a tad retro to you, too?? It will also wait for a new home in my shop π I think I’ll need to get another mannequin head soon because of all the bite marks…

Hmmm. Now. Should I make another one? Or go for another project? Stashdive incomiiiiing π
