A postcard from Travel Turtle
Do you still write postcards? The snail mail ones? I still love sending them and I am always crazy happy when I receive one from my friends. Now in the age of the Internet those little gems have almost been forgotten, but there are some things that are just as nice as a postcard: It’s when I receive a picture of my beloved Travel Turtle friends from around the world!
As it is the traveling season for most now, I didn’t want to keep these inspiring pictures from you. Next time you pack your bags, don’t forget to take your Travel Turtle and please do send me a postcard, will you?Β Let’s make a deal: You send me a picture of your Travel Turtle on holidays (or in your back yard) and I send you a postcard from where I’m at at that moment, what to you think? I’m serious. I’ll do it! Wouldn’t it be nice to get a postcard from a place like this?

If you want to knit a Travel Turtle you can find the pattern here, or have me make one for you!
My Travel Turtle is back on the road again, too! After the baby break it’s now off to new adventures and will take it slow at first, but hopefully picking up traveling hard again in a while. I’ll keep you updated, of course π
It was last spotted on Gotland, Sweden (See the post and pictures here). This time it will be exploring different parts of Germany for a start and then.. well, who knows? π

So here are some of the holiday pictures that I have received from travelers around the globe and it would be a crime not to share them with you! So, get your maps out and trace their travels!
Tommy has been taking his turtle to Asia mostly. Have you been to any of these places yet?

Amanda (aka Faceknits on Ravelry) and her husband are traveling Europe every year with their Turtle Dora. They are sending the most adorable pictures from wherever they go. On the road and at home Amanda knits her beautiful holiday pictures into knitted art! Isn’t this purely amazing??? I’ll be telling you more about her work soon!

Visit her awesome homepage and see all pictures here
Maybe we can convince her to one day include Dora in one of her knitted pictures π Look where they were at this year!

Another frequent traveler is Diana, who takes her Turtle only to warm places π Thank you, Diana for sending all these greetings, I’m off drooling and checking ticket prices now π

One Travel Turtle is currently touring Japan, too! Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures upon her return!

But if you don’t want to go far, why not take your Turtles out to play closer to home, like Amanda Abby on Ravelry does. Just taking the train or going to the fair can be fun, too π

So wherever you co, happy knitting and save travels, and please don’t forget to send me a picture!
