The Indie Design Giftalong is almost over and I’m still way behind with my knitting. That and the fact that my stash doesn’t seem to shrink made me think that good things are not meant to stop 😛
So my New Year’s resolution is set: let’s make 2019 a happy mix and matching year!
Your library is filled with lovely patterns that you always wanted to make but never found the time or yarn for, yet?
Your stash is overflowing with yarns that are looking for a project partner?
Let’s mix patterns and stash yarn (as far as possible) and knit what we have!
This will be a fun event for all of 2019, with cool giveaways and new and old friends. If you share your projects on Ravelry, please post them in THIS thread.
Free, paid, or gifted patterns can be used, as long as you already had them in your library before cast on 🙂
Please tag your projects with UseWhatYouHaveKAL2019
If sharing on social media please use the tag #UseWhatYouHaveKAL2019 so that we can find your lovely projects!
Cast on is on Jan 1st 2019!
To enter the giveaways:
1: create a project page and add Designer name, pattern and yarn brand / dyer
2: tag your project with UseWhatYouHaveKAL2019
If you are a dyer or designer and you would like to join the fun, please read below.
During the Indie Giftalong I purchased way too many beautiful patterns. It would be a shame not to knit them! And as I’m still keen on reducing my stash I’m going to: grab a pattern I wanted to knit in ages and match it to any yarn I have in my stash. Easy. Right? RIGHT?? Here are some that are on my top list.
So who is in for this challenge? Of course you can also add more yarn and patterns to your stash and make something lovely of them. Or use parts of stash and parts of new yarns. I know I certainly will have to do that for some projects. But as much as I can I’d love to mix and match.
Please join us! The more, the merrier! I’m now off to my library and look for patterns to start with. And then: stash-diviiiiiing!
Join us if you are a designer: Encourage your followers to knit those pretty patterns of yours that has been sitting in their queue for too long using whichever yarn they have and share it on Ravelry and other social media tagging you and the dyer.
Join us if you are a dyer: Encourage your followers to knit any of their favourite patterns using your gorgeous yarns they have been drooling over for too long and share it on Ravelry and other social media tagging you and the designer.
In this way everyone has fun, your yarns and patterns get the love they deserve and we finally get to use them!
And if you want to donate a prize we’d be as happy as clams, so contact me if you do.
Let’s make 2019 a happy year!
