UseWhatYouHaveKAL April

UseWhatYouHaveKAL April

I have not been very creative in March, but I’ll definitely change that this month! My newest project for the UWYHKAL is growing like crazy and I have high hopes that this one will get me into the sweater-and-tee-mood for good. I need more big projects to de-stash quicker and I have so many ideas for colourways to dye, so I need more space, too 🙂 So here’s a bit of progress that I made on my Elfe tee. Now…

Knitting Mojo, I’m out to get you!

Knitting Mojo, I’m out to get you!

This winter is getting to me. After nearly 5 months of grey and cold I feel like I might go stir-crazy. Or colour blind. Or both. Even my usually completely overflowing knitting mojo seems to be drained by the constant cold and cheerlessness of this place. One of my students said that ‘Sweden in winter is like all the colour has been sucked out of this place’. Spot on, if you ask me. So I’ve been trying to counter with…

Meet Liam Lion – knit and win…

It’s been a while since my last toy pattern and I am happy to be back to toy making now. And I would like to challange you to join me! (read on) I started off making toys because of my nephews and now continue making them for my own two heroes. Just seeing my boys’s reactions when I show them a new toy prototype for approval is worth all the work in the world! We’ll look at pictures and wildlife…

UseWhatYouHaveKAL2019 March

Just like that it’s already month no 3! Where did time go? I’ve been thinking to make something bigger, like a cardi or sweater for myself to seriously destash, and maybe get to make a Song for Elisabeth in my size (haha), but that will thake way more than just a month. So I settled for this lovely pattern, wich I had in my library since January 2017! It is called Mohnteilchen by Tanja Osswald and has always intrigued me….

February = Vabruari

February = Vabruari

Februari is a soggy business here in Sweden, loads of snow to melt away (if you’re lucky, it’ll stick around a little longer to brighten up your days) and plenty of viruses to catch. Since there is a word for ‘taking care of your sick kids and work from home’ in Swedish called Vab, people like to call February also Vabruari. We have been having fun with chickenpox twice this month, and are now glad to get that one off…

One month down, 11 to go!

Incredible as it is, January seems to be over already! Where did the weeks go? I barely managed to finish two projects for the UseWhatYouHaveKAL2019 yet, but together we have 46 FOs made already! All from stash yarn, all from queued patterns we always wanted to try out! I say YAY! What say you? I finished my Song for Elizabeth cardigan this week and already love the result. This was fun! I omitted the hood as my son doesn’t like…

I can’t believe how fast you all are and it’s wonderful to get knitting together with you all from stash with patterns that we always wanted to make. It took me a while to finish my first FO for this KAL, because I had to finsh a…

One more year of destashing and ready for the next challenge!

One more year of destashing and ready for the next challenge!

Wow, what a ride. This year has been a blast, knitwise and otherwise. Not even my two small monsters (aka kids) who keep me busy at most times couldn’t keep me from destashing the hell out of my drawers. I’m proud to say that even with considerable intakes (for the #24pairsofsocks challenge I set for myself and from yarn I needed for my designs and also from gifts (thanks to my mother-in-law who discovered that she can make me a…
